Inspiring Future Automotive Experts
The automotive world is rapidly advancing, with new technologies and innovations emerging regularly. To prepare students for these evolving challenges, it’s crucial they have access to contemporary vehicles and systems. Unfortunately, many high school automotive programs are stuck working with outdated models that don’t reflect the technological advancements in today’s cars.
Recognizing this shortfall, Bill Brown Ford stepped in to bridge the gap. Joe Hershey, our Collision Center Manager, facilitated the donation of a Ford Mustang to the William D. Ford Career Tech Center. Simultaneously, our team provided a Bronco Raptor to the automotive program at Plymouth Canton High School.
Equipping Students for the Future
During the Plymouth Canton High School auto show and job fair, our Service Director, Jason Ellsworth, engaged with students to see the impact of our donation. He stressed the importance of exposing young minds to modern automotive technology:
“It is important to us as the nation’s leading Ford dealership to provide young students with vehicles that have modern technology. Most of the vehicles these programs had were 10-15 years old and not representative of vehicles on the road today. Introducing these students to newly produced cars will help them grow for the future.”
The auto show at Canton High School was an impressive showcase of classic, modern, and historic vehicles, illustrating the vast opportunities within the automotive industry. This year alone, more than 200 students have enrolled in Plymouth Canton’s Auto Program, and events like these fuel their enthusiasm and interest in automotive careers.
